(Cölbe/Nicosia, April 2012)  Zotiades Energy (Cyprus) and Wagner & Co Solar Technology recently participated in the SaveEnergy 2012 Exhibition in Cyprus. The high profile exhibition is held each year and took place in Nicosia from March 16 to 18. It was jointly organized by the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation, the Cyprus ministry of commerce, industry and tourism and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. As in 2011, more than 25,000 professional visitors were expected.

Zotiades presented high quality Wagner & Co products, including several types of PV modules and the Wagner & Co TRIC range of solar mounting systems, including the versatile free-standing rack TRIC F.

With the Cyprus Government finally announcing its intention to approve old standing applications for PV projects and open up a limited number of new ones, the public interest in solar energy was reawaken.

“Awareness on energy saving issues on the island is increasing” observed Connie Hedegaard, EU commissioner on climate action, when visiting the exhibition. “It is very encouraging that awareness in Cyprus is rising and people have the will to engage in these issues,” she stressed during a follow up news conference in Nicosia. Cyprus is obliged to cover at least 13 percent of its energy consumption from renewable energy sources by 2020.

Zotiades and Wagner & Co are determined to accept the challenge and further strengthen their cooperation in constructing high quality on-roof and free-standing solar electric installations of all sizes in Cyprus.
