The stage was set for the Bin Moosa & Daly product showcase: on the terrace of the high class Dubai Golf and Yacht club the well established water technology company presented its current product portfolio, including the Wagner & Co SECUterm hot water thermosiphon system. „There is a growing interest in solar technology,” said Wagner & Co director Andreas Knoch, who personally attended the event, „in part because mandatory solar energy requirements for new buildings have been announced.“

Abu Dhabi headquartered Bin Moosa & Daly is well positioned with its various branches in the regional markets. Established in 1969, the company currently has approximately 140 employees. It is partly owned by the Bin Moosa Group, a conglomerate of long established construction, architecture and hotel enterprises, along with different operations across a wide range of sectors.

„The showcase drew considerable interest,” reports Andreas Knoch. „There have been 185 visitors, among them consultants, administrative officials, investors and property managers. Some international consultants from Syria, Iraq and Egypt also expressed interest in the SECUterm system.“

SECUterm hot water thermosiphon system for hot tropical and subtropical regions
SECUterm is the first Wagner & Co system that entered the UAE market in January, and it already begins to sell. The system is optimized for hot tropical and subtropical regions and brought the classic thermosiphon concept to a new level of sophistication, featuring a high-class solar collector and a whole range of technical improvements. It already was successfully deployed in a variety of projects across Europe and Africa. Recently SECUterm 160 and 200 systems received the widely accepted SolarKeymark certification after thorough testing by the renown IZES (Institute for Future Energy Systems) in Saarbrücken, Germany. It was found to provide a solar fraction of 76% for a location on the latitude of Athens and based upon a daily hot water demand of 140l. Andreas Knoch points out: “That’s the top value among similar systems with SolarKeymark on the market.”

Michael Daly, 2nd generation managing director of Bin Moosa & Daly, invited the Wagner delegation to visit the headquarters in Abu Dhabi during their next visit, while in turn the Management team of the new partner company was invited to visit the production and development facilities of the German solar pioneer. At the end of the day good contacts were established to a new partner in a promising new market.
